Dr. Sharad Deshmukh, Gastroenterologist and liver specialist, Apollo Hospitals, Nashik; Ex-Alumini department of gastroenterology, Apollo hospital, Chennai recently performed a unique case 9 yr girl with chronic pancreatitis with large pancreatic calculi with pancreatico pleural fistula with gross pleural effusion on ventilator. Dr. Deshmukh performed an ERCP – pancreatic duct stone extraction and PD stent placement. The Patient recovered very well and was discharged. This is the first Pancreatic ERCP in Nashik done for such a small child with very high risk.
Dr. Sharad Deshmukh has also received hands on training in Endoscopic Ultrasound (EUS) and has performed more than fifty EUS diagnostic and therapeutic EUS procedure and Completed more than 1500 diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic interventions in last one year at Apollo Nashik.
