The COVID-19 pandemic has had an unprecedented devastating impact worldwide. Evidence on treatments and management strategies is emerging rapidly, but this has been difficult to examine systematically in a short space of time. Therefore, few guidelines have used formal evidence synthesis and GRADE approaches, particularly with relevance to low- and middle-income countries.
The ‘’India covid guidelines’’ is a collaborative effort between Christian Medical College (CMC) Vellore, CIDS (Clinical Infectious Diseases Society of India), Booshanam V Moses center for evidence informed health care and policy and Cochrane ID group. Various institutions and clinicians across the India including ours have been partnering with each other in this process for making GRADE guidelines for treatment of COVID-19. This guideline is mainly developed for the management of patients secondary and tertiary care hospitals with specific focus on Indian settings. The target end users will be physicians and those developing local guidelines in secondary and tertiary care settings across India.
