Dr Nikhil Parchure, Cardiologist, Apollo Hospitals Navi Mumbai was bestowed with the Best Case Award at the 22nd Cardiovascular Summit TCTAP 2017
Dr Parchure was invited as faculty to present a case at the International Conference on Interventional Cardiology: 22nd Cardiovascular Summit TCTAP 2017, April 25-27 held in Seoul, South Korea organised by the CVRF Foundation.
Dr Parchure presented a case performed at the Apollo Hospitals, Navi Mumbai cardiac catheter laboratory. The case highlighted the appropriate use of intra-coronary imaging by OCT to guide deployment of ABSORB stent.
Recently there has been a lot of publicity regarding adverse outcome after deploying ABSORB stent. This case highlighted accurate technique of stent deployment including pre-dilatation, accurate sizing and post dilatation guided by OCT. A final OCT run revealed distal stent edge dissection which was not visible on angiography alone.
OCT OPTIS system and expertise to accurately interpret the images by angio-coregistration and 3D OCT is available at Apollo Navi Mumbai, being one of only two hospitals with this facility in India.
