Apollo Hospitals, Delhi was the official healthcare partner of Pinkathon Delhi 2018, India’s biggest women’s running event.
After the remarkable success of the 5th edition last year, India’s biggest women’s run, Pinkathon Delhi 2018 held its 6th edition on 23rd September, 2018 at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, New Delhi. Apollo Hospitals, Delhi was the official healthcare partner. The event saw a participation of more than 8000 women from all spheres of life.
Dr. Ramesh Sarin, Senior Oncologist addressed the gathering and spoke on preventive aspects. Mr. Gagan Sehgal, COO of Apollo Hospitals, Delhi along with Dr. Ashok Sarin flagged off various categories of run and shared the dias for prize distribution.
The Pinkathon was organized by the United Sisters Foundation, created with the objective of spreading awareness about women’s health related issues, breast cancer in particular. It is conceived as more than just a running event and was developed as a community project, highlighting the importance of an active lifestyle for women. The Pinkathon saw a participation of more than 60,000 women across eight cities.
Being the official healthcare partner Apollo Hospitals, Delhi offered free hospital registration for all women participants. For women above 45 years, free mammography along with doctor’s consultation and for women below 45 years, complimentary consultation with a gynaecologist where indicated were done. On the day of the event, a medical stall was set up at the venue offering free first aid to all participants. Our ambulances were available too, in case of any medical exigency.
