This innovative image-guided procedure, often referred to as “scarless surgery”, is performed by expert breast radiologists using minimally invasive techniques under local anesthesia. It offers an effective alternative to traditional surgery for women diagnosed with non-cancerous breast lumps, such as fibroadenomas and papillomas. 

Ideal for women who are concerned about cosmetic outcomes or prefer to avoid hospital admission and general anesthesia, this procedure combines safety, precision, and comfort in a day-care setting. 

How the Procedure is Performed 

• The procedure is done in a dedicated imaging suite, under ultrasound guidance for real-time accuracy. 

• After numbing the area with local anesthesia, a small probe is inserted through a tiny skin nick. 

• Using a technique such as Vacuum-Assisted Excision, the benign lump is gently removed in fragments through the probe. 

• The procedure typically takes 20–30 minutes, and no stitches are needed. 

• A small dressing is applied, and most women can return home shortly after. 

Recovery 

• Minimal discomfort; most women can return to daily routines within 24 hours. 

• Mild bruising or swelling may occur and settle in a few days. 

• No hospital stay or stitches required. 

• Follow-up imaging may be advised.
