Precise Treatment.
Whole-Person Healing.
At Apollo Athenaa, we recognize that GI cancers are not just physical illnesses. That’s why our approach combines advanced treatment with care that restores strength, dignity, and confidence.
Types Of GI Cancers
GI cancers are classified based on the organ of origin:

  • Among the most common, affecting the colon or rectum. Screening is critical because many cases are detected late.

  • A leading cause of cancer deaths; often diagnosed at advanced stages due to vague early symptoms.

  • Highly aggressive, often silent until late; early diagnosis greatly improves chances of cure.

  • Can develop after chronic hepatitis or cirrhosis; outcomes depend on early detection and multidisciplinary treatment.

  • Affects the food pipe; linked to tobacco, alcohol, and chronic acid reflux.

World-Class Diagnostics
& Early Detection

Early detection greatly improves the success of treatment. At Apollo Athenaa, diagnosis is precise, thorough, and centred around each woman’s comfort.

Diagnostics

At Athenaa, we believe in leaving no question unanswered. Our advanced diagnostics suite includes:

  • Non-invasive stool-based tests like ColFit for colorectal cancer
  • High-definition endoscopy and colonoscopy for early detection
  • Advanced imaging: CT, MRI, PET-CT for staging
  • Molecular profiling and genetic testing for high-risk women

Every diagnostic step is overseen by specialists in women’s cancers to ensure accuracy and early intervention.

Screening

At Athenaa, we believe that every woman deserves the power of early, accurate detection.

  • Screening programs for women with family history or genetic predisposition
  • Regular colonoscopy, endoscopy, and stool-based tests improve early detection
  • Genetic testing can identify individuals with a higher risk of certain GI cancers due to inherited mutations

GI cancer often develops silently, but early detection through annual screening gives every woman the power to act when treatment can be most effective.

Staging of
GI Cancers

GI cancers are staged based on tumor size, lymph node spread, and distant spread (metastasis). Early-stage detection is crucial — when caught early, GI cancers can have cure rates exceeding 90%.
