Uterine Cancer Care Precision. Compassion.
Healing Designed For Her.
At Apollo Athenaa, uterine cancer care is grounded in precision and a deep understanding of how the disease affects each woman’s body and life plans. Every treatment plan is thoughtfully tailored, because no two women are the same.
Types Of
Uterine Cancer
Uterine cancer (also called endometrial cancer) is classified based on cell type and location:

Starts in the endometrium (the inner lining of the uterus) and accounts for about 95% of all uterine cancers

A rare form that starts in the muscle tissue (myometrium) or other supporting tissues of the uterus; making up less than 5% of uterine cancers

Each diagnostic step is overseen by specialists in women’s imaging and gynecological pathology.

Staging of Uterine Cancer

Uterine cancer is staged based on how far the cancer has spread. The overall 5-year survival rate is approximately 81%, but this rises to 95% for localized disease and drops to 18% for distant disease.

Our Approach To Treatment

We blend advanced technology with personalized care, ensuring every woman's treatment is precise, compassionate, and supportive.

Surgical Oncology

Cancer surgery doesn't have to mean compromise. Our experts combine cancer removal with precision, while preserving a woman's natural form and dignity.

  • Total hysterectomy (removal of uterus and cervix) or bilateral salpingo-oophorectomy (removal of both fallopian tubes and ovaries)
  • Robotic or laparoscopic hysterectomy
  • Fertility-sparing surgery in early-stage cancers for younger women
  • Pelvic exenteration for recurrent or advanced cervical cancer after radiation, involving removal of affected pelvic organs to eliminate all remaining disease
  • HIPEC (Hyperthermic Intraperitoneal Chemotherapy) for selected advanced or recurrent cases
  • Lymph node dissection to check for spread

Each surgical plan is guided by tumor board consensus and prioritizes safety, function, and long-term outcomes.

Medical Oncology

At Athenaa, cancer treatment is never one-size-fits-all. Our medical oncology team designs therapies around each woman’s tumor biology and life goals — bringing the best of global breakthroughs into compassionate personalized care.

Apollo Athenaa’s chemotherapy day-care unit is designed for comfort, privacy, and safe administration under the supervision of experienced medical oncologists.

Radiation Oncology

Radiation therapy is often used as part of a multi-modal approach in endometrial (uterine) cancer, particularly for early-stage or high-risk disease. It may include:

  • Adjuvant external beam radiotherapy (EBRT): Used after surgery to reduce the risk of local recurrence
  • Vaginal brachytherapy: Delivers internal radiation directly to the vaginal cuff, with fewer side effects and excellent local control
  • Definitive radiation: For patients unfit for surgery due to medical reasons
  • Palliative radiation: For symptom relief in metastatic disease
Survivorship & Supportive Care
Healing Beyond Treatment

Cancer treatment is only one part of the journey. Survivorship care focuses on helping women recover fully-physically, emotionally, and socially-after cancer. It addresses long-term health, supports emotional well-being, and ensures women regain confidence and quality of life.

At Athenaa, our care does not stop when treatment ends. Survivorship is about restoring health, dignity, and confidence, helping every woman live fully, thrive, and embrace life after cancer.
