Intensity Modulated Radiation Therapy

Intensity Modulated Radiation Therapy (IMRT) is a high precision radiotherapy technique and can result in better sparing of normal structures than 3D conformal radiotherapy. It is possible to vary the doses within the tumour in this technique with high risk part of the tumour getting a higher dose than a low risk region which is given a lower dose.
