Paediatric Sickle Cell Anaemia

Each person may experience symptoms differently. Some of the symptoms are:

• Hand-foot syndrome – Painful swelling of the fingers and toes (also called dactylitis)
• Fatigue
• Pain Crisis
• Stroke
• Jaundice, or yellowing of the skin, eyes, and mouth
• Frequent infections
• Delayed growth or puberty
• Fever
• Anaemia
• Increased heart rate
• Vision problems
