- CT scan is a diagnostic imaging procedure that uses x-rays to build cross-sectional images of the body. It also helps to identify the spread of cancer. The scan typically uses contrast agents injected intravenously or taken orally.
- PET CT is considered to assess spread to regional nodes or distant metastases to other parts of the body. It provides functional and morphological details by utilizing radiation derived from Isotope labeled Glucose molecules to detect cellular glucose uptake, in cancer.
- Endoscopy- An endoscopy is done to visualize and biopsy the tumor. Endoscopy is a procedure that uses a thin, flexible tube, attached with a camera, to examine the interior of the stomach and duodenum. Based on the location of the tumor, endoscopy can be done to examine the duodenal tumor. It may also be used to collect a tissue sample for biopsy.
- Biopsy is the removal of a small amount of tissue for further pathology examination and to detect the type of tumor. Biopsy is done to determine the type of tumor.
- Pathology - The tissue sample collected is sent for further evaluation such as Histopathological examination (HPE) and Immunohistochemistry (IHC) to know the type of disease and its grading.
