What keeps us going in a pandemic

Around mid-April, when coronavirus had started wreaking havoc across the country, Priya Nagwani received back-to-back bad news: a close family member had tested positive and her Delhi employer, a medical equipment trading company, gave her the pink slip. Nagwani lost confidence almost immediately. Constant news about the rising number of cases and deaths, increasing unemployment rates and not being able to step outside her house made things worse.

Treating little ones, one joke at a time

Alleviating the stress of children undergoing cancer treatment is important to us in Indraprastha Apollo Hospitals, New Delhi. Clowning sessions for children undergoing cancer treatment in the hospital were organised under the ‘Art For Healing’ program. These weekly sessions helped the children have fun as the Clown went to each child to entertain them. They enjoyed the funny faces and ballooning games performed by the Clown.

Training programmes on health and hygiene

Training on prevention of dengue, malaria, chikungunya and water-borne diseases School children in the project schools are being provided training and tips by doctors to prevent mosquito-borne diseases that are spreading all across Delhi. Water-borne diseases are also prevalent during this season and training on the same is also provided.In August 2016, 557 school children were trained in four schools.

Touching Lives – Monthly Health Camps for Pregnant Women in Urban Villages

  • Towards improving access to healthcare for socio-economically deprived communities, Indraprastha Apollo Hospitals has been organising health camps every month for pregnant women since 2016.
