Overview


Most childhood cancers do not have a known cause. Less than one-tenth of all cancers in childhood are caused by a mutation which can be passed from one generation to the next. Childhood cancers are rare and tend to be more aggressive than adult cancers.

Most childhood cancers fall into one of several specific types, as listed below:
