• Apollo Speciality Hospital, Jayanagar Pulmonology team are leaders in state-of-the-art practice in pulmonary medicine and particularly in Interventional Pulmonology
• A unique clinical assessment & research project was done in partnership with Indian Institute of Science where bronchoscopy was done on Covid patients & their reports being studied for genomics & actual respiratory findings in Covid patients. It is an ongoing project
• The Pulmonology team has the distinction of publishing the only research paper on ‘ Remdesivir Therapy’, the same was also published in International Covid treatments journal
• Chief of Pulmonology was active on Public Health roles as an advisor to the Rajiv Gandhi committee for forming medical guidelines, BBMP committee to form Covid care protocols & was also engaged extensively with State ministers & MP’s on public Covid education
• The pulmo team was featured in more than 150 media stories on Covid in the private hospital space & was a key opinion leader in Covid care both print & electronic media

• The expertise of the Pulmonology team miraculously saved the life of a 29yrs old man who was airlifted from Goa. He happens to have accidently fallen into a crude oil barrel, a super rare case where his lungs was washed with 20lts of saline & put on echmo support. The patient recovered fully intact, it was one of the rare cases in the world to have survived
