Apollo Hospital, Jubilee Hills, Hyderabad – Apollo Institute for Blood Pressure Management has been selected by the World Hypertension League (WHL) for its office in South Asia.
The Apollo family is proud for being selected as the South Asia Office of WHL (a WHO partner). We will now be able to spread awareness for better blood pressure control in India through our coalition with WHL/WHO. The South Asia office of WHL at Apollo will cover India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Nepal, Sri Lanka, and Myanmar.

At the event, the CD on “175 cases Advanced Fever Clinic” was released by Dr. Preetha Reddy – Executive Vice Chairperson, Apollo Hospitals and was received by Kavingnar Vairamuthu.

The CD & Book on “Poisoning Drug Over Dose” was released by Mr. R.S. Munirathinam – Chairman RMK group of colleges and was received by Mr. R. Sekar – I.P.S, Director General of Police – Vigilance / TANGEDCO Chennai.

The patient from Jharkhand sustained grievous injuries when his two-wheeler collided with a moving train and was shifted to the hospital by train.
The incident has also highlighted the importance of a quality trauma care for emergency situations.

On May 4, 2015,Datar Genetics Limited (Datar), a renowned Centre for Molecular and Genetic Analysis announced a strategic collaboration with Apollo Hospitals Educational and Research Foundation (AHERF), a premier DSIR recognized organization focused on basic and translational research. The collaboration envisages establishing a liquid biopsy platform for detecting Glioblastomas (GBM), one of the most aggressive malignant brain tumours in humans.

Apollo Hospitals, Chennai harvested 23 different organs from these five donors and conducted 10 transplants in a day at the flagship Hospital on Greams Road on May 6, 2015. A case of extreme gesture of kindness displayed by five strong families who came forward to donate the organs of their loved ones, incidentally on the same evening, enabled this feat to give a fresh lease of life to 23 people.
From five brain dead donors – 4 kidneys, 1 heart and 5 livers were harvested at Apollo Hospitals, Chennai.
