Apollo Excelcare Hospital, formerly known as Excelcare Hospitals (A Unit of Asclepius Hospitals & Healthcare Pvt. Ltd) is a 180 bedded, multi-specialty, tertiary care hospital operating out of Guwahati, Assam. Apollo Hospital Enterprises Limited (AHEL) through its subsidiary Assam Hospitals Ltd. acquired over 64% stake in Asclepius Hospitals & Healthcare Pvt. Ltd in November’ 2021. With the takeover, the brand name of the hospital has been changed to Apollo Excelcare Hospital. Further, the hospital remains a strategic importance to the Apollo Group since it is only the second hospital run by the Apollo group in the Northeastern part of India.
Through this merger, the hospital is positioning itself as a premier healthcare destination, not only for the entire Northeast but also for the friendly neighboring countries such as Bhutan, Bangladesh and Myanmar. The hospital has a state-of-the-art infrastructure that enables to carry out the most advanced interventional procedures that are done only in a few select centers across the country. The hospital has also acquired the license for organ transplant and the renal transplant program was rolled out in 2020 and is running successfully, which has addressed the need for patients who cannot afford to travel outside for such treatment.
