Pulmonary Function Tests are a group of non-invasive tests that show how well your lungs are working. Think of these tests as a thorough check-up for your breathing system. During PFTs, you'll be asked to breathe into a mouthpiece connected to a machine called a spirometer. The tests measure various aspects of your breathing, including how much air you can inhale and exhale, how quickly you can move air in and out of your lungs, and how well your lungs deliver oxygen to your blood.

These painless tests typically take 45-90 minutes and provide crucial information about your lung capacity, airflow, and overall respiratory health. The results help us diagnose conditions like asthma and COPD, monitor existing lung conditions, and evaluate the effectiveness of treatments.
