What is the effect of Soliris for COVID 19?

Based on a theory that the patient’s own immune mechanism is what causes fatal damage in Covid -19 infections and that a part of the immune system, known as the complement, has been shown to cause such damage in other types of coronaviruses, there are studies to see if the drug Soliris (Eculizumab) may be used to modulate this very specific part of the immune response. This medication has already been in use for certain immunological diseases.
