EBUS is an advanced, minimally invasive procedure that combines bronchoscopy with ultrasound imaging. This technology allows us to see beyond the airways' walls and examine nearby lymph nodes and other structures. During the procedure, a special bronchoscope with a tiny ultrasound probe at its tip is guided through your mouth and into your airways while you're under sedation.

EBUS is particularly useful for diagnosing and staging lung cancer, as it allows us to take precise tissue samples from lymph nodes without the need for more invasive surgical procedures. The procedure typically takes about an hour, and you can usually go home the same day.
