Dr S K Gupta

Dr. S. K. Gupta is a highly accomplished Knee and Shoulder surgeon based in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh, with over 21 years of orthopedic experience and specialized expertise in arthroscopy & sports injuries .

He serves as an Arthroscopy , Sports Surgeon & Joint Replacement Specialist at Apollo Sage Hospital, Bhopal . He was  former Ass. Professor of Orthopaedics at L.N. Medical College & J.K. Hospital, reflecting a strong blend of clinical, academic, and teaching experience.

Internationally trained, at UK , Germany , Singapore, Hongkong & USA ,  he has completed dedicated fellowships in Arthroscopy and Sports Medicine at Gunma Sports Medicine and Research Centre, Zenshukai Hospital with  in Japan, and in Joint Replacement with Johnson & Johnson (DePuy) in Indraprastha Apollo Hospital New Delhi, supported by an MS in Orthopaedics from very prestigious L.T.M.M.C., Sion Hospital, Mumbai, and MBBS from Pt. J.N.M. Medical College, Raipur with gold medal in various subjects.

Dr. Gupta is a recognized national and international faculty in advanced knee and shoulder arthroscopy, regularly performing live surgeries and delivering lectures and courses across India and abroad, including ISAKOS meetings, AANA (USA), and major arthroscopy and sports medicine forums in Europe and Asia.

He is accredited as a teacher by ISAKOS and the Indian Arthroscopy Society, runs an accredited fellowship center training  orthopedic fellows and has received awards for innovative arthroscopic techniques and best video publications in knee ligament and cartilage surgery .

With substantial involvement in elite sports medicine, Dr. Gupta has worked as a sports injury specialist for the Indian senior women’s national hockey team and other national squads in judo, boxing, kabaddi, and wushu, treating and operating on numerous national and international medal-winning athletes. He has served as a visiting sports medicine specialist to the Sports Authority of India, a dope control officer with the National Anti-Doping Agency, and team doctor for international hockey tournaments in Argentina and Thailand, while also designing injury prevention and rehabilitation programmes for Olympic-level players.

Academically, he has presented scientific papers on meniscus, shoulder, and knee conditions at national and international conferences, chaired and organized multiple advanced knee and shoulder courses, and remains actively engaged in workshops on joint replacement, navigation-assisted arthroplasty, cartilage restoration, and knee preservation.

Dr. Gupta holds memberships in leading international and national bodies including ESSKA , ICRS , APKASS , ISAKOS, AANA, the Asia Pacific Orthopaedic Association, the International Federation of Sports Medicine, the Indian Orthopaedic Association, and the Indian Arthroscopy Society, underscoring his standing in the global orthopedic community
