Chest X-rays and CT Scans

These imaging tests allow us to see detailed pictures of your lungs and surrounding structures. A chest X-ray is a quick, painless test that produces a two-dimensional image of your chest, helping us identify basic problems like pneumonia, lung cancer, or fluid around the lungs. It's often the first imaging test we use when examining lung problems.

A CT (Computed Tomography) scan provides more detailed, three-dimensional images of your lungs. During this painless procedure, you lie still on a table that moves through a donut-shaped machine while multiple X-ray images are taken from different angles. These detailed images help us detect subtle abnormalities that might not be visible on regular X-rays and are particularly useful for diagnosing conditions like small lung nodules or early-stage lung cancer.
