Allergy immunotherapy, also known as allergy shots, is a long-term treatment that decreases your sensitivity to specific allergens. The therapy works like a vaccine – we give you gradually increasing amounts of an allergen, helping your immune system build up tolerance to the substance. This can lead to lasting relief from allergy symptoms and prevent the development of asthma in some cases.

Treatment typically begins with shots once or twice a week for several months, followed by maintenance doses every few weeks. While it requires a long-term commitment, many patients experience significant reduction in their allergy symptoms and need for medication.
