DGCA Medical Examination Guidelines

Apollo Hospitals, Delhi has been authorized by the Director General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) Government of India, as a Centre for Class I Initial and Class II Medical Examination. These Examination will be conducted at the APHC Block, Indraprastha Apollo Hospitals, New Delhi a state of the art and modern out-patient facility, under the care of DGCA approved medical expert and efficient and caring staff.

Apollo Health Check, First Floor, Gate no. 2 Indraprastha Apollo Hospitals, Delhi-Mathura Road, Sarita Vihar 110076 (opposite to Jasola Apollo Metro station)

Request For Appointment:

It is mandatory to have a prior appointment for the examination to be conducted. Appointments must be fixed only by written communication through email or by calling our dedicated number listed below. Candidates should strictly follow the appointment schedule; no changes will be made without prior intimation. Appointments will be based on first-come-first-serve basis.

Documents Needed

Candidate should be in possession of the following and submit all the documents mentioned below at the time of registration, failing which the medical examination will not be initiated
  • Appointment confirmation schedule (Copy of the E- Mail to be shown to the ground floor person to start the process) received from Apollo hospitals.
  • Photocopy of the Class II Medical Assessment (original & two Xerox copy)
  • 10th Mark Sheet (original & two Xerox copy)
  • Recent Passport Size Photo – 6 (six) nos.
  • Proof of identity – It must have the photo of the candidate. Original & two photocopies of any one of the following:
    1. Aadhar card
    2. Driving License
    3. Passport
    4. Voter ID card
  • If using spectacles, carry spectacles and a copy of fresh prescription of spectacles.

Test contents

The test contents in the medical examination package for Class I Initial medical examination are as per the advice of DGCA guidelines.
  • Blood tests: Hb, TC, DC, FBA, PPBS, HbA1C, LFT, Blood Urea, Serum Creatinine, Uric acid, Lipid Profile
  • Urine- Routine
  • ECG
  • X-Ray Chest
  • Ultrasound whole abdomen
  • Pure Tone Audiometry
  • Physical Assessment
  • Surgeon/ Gynaecology assessment
  • Eye examination by Ophthalmologist
  • ENT Examination by ENT Specialist
  • Final examination by President Medical Board

Payment

Payment for the medical Check-up (Rs. 18,500/-) can be made by cash/card by the candidate to Apollo Hospitals on the day of the check-up before initiating the examination process.

Additional Tests

If required additional tests have to be done as per protocol. The tests will be conducted at least over 2 days. The duration will vary depending on the additional tests prescribed.

  • Cost of additional test –  25% discount will be offered on additional tests

Duration Of the medical examination

  • Class I Initial – Minimum two working days.
  • If additional tests are indicated, it may require more than 2 days.

Results

For Class I Initials – All assessments will be completed within 7 days of commencement of the process, failing which the candidate will be declared temporarily unfit. Such cases will be immediately flagged to the President Medical Board and the office of DGCA.

Instructions for a comfortable medical examination

  • Before coming for the check-up, please get your ears cleaned of wax, so that you can avoid delays.
  • Please come on an empty stomach, i.e you need to be fasting overnight;however, you are advised to have 2-3 glasses of plain water before coming for the medical assessment to facilitate an ultrasound on full bladder
  • Ladies are advised NOT to undergo their health check during menstrual cycle since urine sample cannot be collected.
  • Female candidates will be offered a chaperone (female) to assist.
  • Candidates are requested to follow the Dress code – Casual clothes and footwear.
  • Avoid carrying your valuables along. Avoid wearing any kind of jewellery for your medical examination. Keep minimal belongings.
  • Additional tests and consults will be arranged on the same day or other day depending on the specialist availability.
