Stereotactic Radiosurgery

The Closed skull destruction of an intracranial target in a single session using ionizing beams of radiation focused with the help of an intracranial guiding device, avoids significant concomitant or late radiation damage to adjacent tissues. An X-Knife SRS procedure is completed in one day and the actual treatment time typically takes less than 30 minutes. Dedicated X-Knife: Exclusive departments in the hospitals house these machines, which are the first few dedicated X-Knifes outside the United States. X-Knife has the added advantage of being used for fractioned treatment (Stereo Tactic Radiotherapy-SRT) for benign and malignant tumors.
