Multitude of errors can be eliminated in a hospital by ensuring a strong patient family education. It helps patients better participate in their care and make informed care decisions. Education to patients includes not only providing general information about the patient’s disease/health condition, its causes, consequences, but also being informed on how to get help from health professionals.

It is important to recognize the need for an educational process through participation and involvement to strengthen patient’s decision making in the care process.Also, the role of the family in the care process and improve recovery is critical. Strong education improves the family’s ability to cope with the patient’s health status, prognosis and outcome.
