Recipe for Healthy Apricot Smoothie

Serves two.

Apricots maybe small in size but posses a lot of health benefits. They are very good for skin care, that is why they are used as an ingredient in various cosmetics. Besides skin care, health benefits of apricots include treating indigestion, constipation, earaches, fevers, skin diseases, cancer and anemia.

Apricots can be eaten directly as a fruit or be used to make delicious dishes such as apricot-smoothie. If you are someone who loves to experiment with cooking, here is your chance. Find the recipe to the apricot smoothie and get lost in its smoothness.

Ingredients

  • 60 gm dried apricots, de-seeded
  • 250 ml water
  • 200 ml milk
  • A pinch of ground ginger
  • Honey, to taste

Directions

  • In a small saucepan, mix the dried apricots and water.
  • Bring to a boil, reduce heat, cover and simmer for ten minutes. Let it cool slightly.
  • In another saucepan, heat the milk until bubbles form around the edge of the pan.
  • In a blender, combine the apricots and their liquid, the milk, ginger and honey.
  • Blend until smooth and drink warm.
