Based on studies, there is a physical and psychological benefit of exercise which helps in reducing anxiety thus enhancing mood. If an individual who used to suffer from depression stops the regular practice of exercise, there are likely tendencies that depression might resurface.

In conclusion, abandoning your workout schedule rips you off the numerous benefits listed above. Once the body no longer enjoys these privileges, depression starts to set in with time. In essence, abandoning your workout is not the best option for you; rather, it is your best bet in dealing with depression.
