Winter is here. The ambiences outside our houses look gloomy, snowy and chilly during this season. This makes it quite tough for us to step outside our houses leaving the comfort of our blankets and quilts. But if you are a heart patient, always remember, you need to take care of yourself more during the winter season. Heart patients are more susceptible to ailments than anybody else; hence they should take proper care of themselves in order to stay fit and healthy.
Get some sunshine vitamin
It is extremely essential to step outside for a walk and get exposed to natural light during winters. Sunlight is a great source of vitamin D which is very beneficial to prevent seasonal disorders.
Most of us feel very lethargic to exercise during winters because our body already seems to be stiff due to the cold weather. We prefer to exercise indoors, but exercising outdoors is more beneficial. It regulates our body temperature, which helps in boosting our metabolism.
Wear your warm clothes in layers
Layered clothing helps us fight the cold. When we exercise, the body gets heated up. Fatigue is caused while exercising when overdressed. So peel off some layers before working out.
Drink plenty of water
Most of us do not feel thirsty during winters and therefore drink very less water which may lead to dehydration. Drink lots of water to keep yourselves hydrated. It also helps our bodies digest food easily.
We can also start our yoga classes during the winters. We don’t even need to step out because yoga can be done indoors. It helps in keeping us fit and gives us the inner strength needed to fight against any ailment.
All heart patients must bear these key points in mind and practice them during the winters because your heart is precious, and so are you.
