    FAQ's

Since Parkinson’s disease is a progressive condition, the onset of symptoms and the rate of progression can differ among individuals. General symptoms, however, include tremors, bradykinesia (slowness), impaired balance and posture, stiff muscles, loss of automatic movements like blinking, swinging of arms, difficulty in speaking and swallowing, difficulty writing, fatigue, fluctuations in blood pressure causing lightheadedness, dementia (forgetfulness), and sexual dysfunction.

Neurologists conduct a comprehensive evaluation, including a thorough neurological examination to determine if one has Parkinson’s disease. In cases of difficulty diagnosing cases, they take the assistance of cutting-edge technology such as 3T MRI and F-DOPA-PET CT scans.

No cure has been found till now to treat Parkinson’s disease, and treatments generally aim to manage symptoms. Medications to increase dopamine levels to ease and control symptoms are prescribed. Procedures like deep brain stimulation (DBS) are used if medications do not work.
