This project involved in taking liver tissue samples in patients undergoing liver resection for colorectal liver metastases. The specimens are collected at different time points to analyze alterations in the expression of genes. RNA and protein are extracted and analyzed. The thesis was submitted to University College Dublin, Ireland in Jan 2013 and awarded MCh. Also involved in other research projects which were carried out in our lab : 1. “ Soluble CD1d: a novel receptor of iNKT cells and possible immunotherapeutic agent” 2. “Hepatic iNKT cell populations in perfusates obtained during liver transplantation” 3. “ CD141+ ( BDCA-3) Dendrtic cells ( DC) are depleted in Hepatitis C virus ( HCV) – infected liver”.
