Institution- Tata Memorial hospital Nature of work included patient selection, arranging for investigations, carrying out the procedure of photodynamic therapy, assessing response and its complications under GCP guidelines. • Trained in designing, organizing and conduction of trials as per GCP guidelines. Helped in designing the following trials :- • Assisted in designing a randomized controlled trial in Head and Neck oncology: Elective versus therapeutic neck dissection in early cancer of oral tongue. The trial is ongoing at Tata Memorial hospital • Assisted in designing a randomized controlled trial in plastic and reconstructive services: Role of anticoagulants in Head and Neck microvascular reconstruction. Nature of work: Apart from clinical work including organ procurement (On call rota 1in 3) and liver.

This project involved in taking liver tissue samples in patients undergoing liver resection for colorectal liver metastases. The specimens are collected at different time points to analyze alterations in the expression of genes. RNA and protein are extracted and analyzed. The thesis was submitted to University College Dublin, Ireland in Jan 2013 and awarded MCh. Also involved in other research projects which were carried out in our lab : 1. “ Soluble CD1d: a novel receptor of iNKT cells and possible immunotherapeutic agent” 2. “Hepatic iNKT cell populations in perfusates obtained during liver transplantation” 3. “ CD141+ ( BDCA-3) Dendrtic cells ( DC) are depleted in Hepatitis C virus ( HCV) – infected liver”.
