While yoga aids in improving overall health of the body, it greatly reduces the risk of heart diseases.

Exercise can help your body in many ways. Doing three or four sessions of moderate intensity exercises in a week, for around 30 minutes , will significantly reduce your risk for heart disease. No matter what exercise you choose to do, remember to drink enough water before, during and after to prevent dehydration.

You should exercise caution with a few supplements such as Vitamin D and Calcium as a few studies indicate that these supplements can result in increased calcium deposition in the vessels. Patients at risk of heart diseases or those with ischemic heart disease are advised to take a sodium restricted diet.
