We, at Apollo Hospitals Chennai, successfully treated a 42 year old patient, an unusual case of Myocardial infarction [heart attack] involving two areas in the heart [anterior and inferior walls].
Our cardiologist, Dr. Sengottuvel put him on IABP support and temporary pacer. He aspirated the thrombus from the Left anterior descending coronary artery [LAD] and did V stenting of the LAD and diagonal arteries. There was another thrombus in the Circumflex artery. A stent was placed there as well after aspiration of the clot.
The patient is in Cardiac CCU now, stable. This is a rather unusual case where we had two areas of MI in a single patient at the same time.
