India today is on the verge of major transitions in the field of Healthcare IT. For moving towards Integrated Healthcare System, Ministry of Health & Family Welfare (MoH&FW), Government of India, released EHR standards for India in August 2013. The intent is to introduce a uniform system for maintenance of EMR/EHR (Electronic Medical Record /Electronic Health Record) by the hospitals and healthcare providers, and enable unique EHR for every individual in the country.
