About Dr Kalayarasan Raja

Prof. (Dr). Kalayarasan Raja is a Senior Consultant Gastrointestinal, Hepato-Pancreato-Biliary (HPB) and Robotic/laparoscopic Oncosurgeon with extensive experience in complex GI, HPB and minimally invasive cancer surgery. He has special expertise in robotic and laparoscopic surgery for liver, pancreas, bile duct, gallbladder, stomach, esophageal and colorectal cancers. 

He is known for performing advanced robotic HPB procedures, including robotic pancreaticoduodenectomy, robotic liver resections, robotic surgery for hilar cholangiocarcinoma, robotic distal pancreatectomy including distal pancreatectomy with celiac axis resection and minimally invasive surgery for gallbladder cancer. He has performed a number of World's first robotic surgical procedures. His clinical focus is to provide safe, precise and evidence-based treatment using advanced surgical technology. 

He has more than 100 PubMed-indexed publications, contributed more than 20 book chapters and has received several national and international awards for innovation in robotic HPB surgery, and is actively involved in surgical training, academic research and international HPB outreach programs
