The Transplant team of Indraprastha Apollo Hospitals, Delhi helped Chitwan Medical College (CMC), Bharatpur, Nepal to conduct its first liver transplant surgery on a 54-year-old patient, Mrs. Dhan Kumari Lama, a resident of Bharatpur Metropolitan City–10.
According to Professor Dr Harish Chandra Neupane, Managing Director of CMC, Mrs. Lama was suffering from chronic liver disease and she received the liver tissue from her 34-year-old daughter. The transplant surgery was a12 hours long and both donor and recipient are stable.
The Liver transplant team comprised of Dr. Neerav Goyal, Dr. Arun V, Dr. Sanjeev Aneja, Dr. Saurabh Singhal, Dr. Hitendra Garg from Indraprastha Apollo Hospitals, Delhi and Dr. Sanjay, Dr. Akanand S, Dr. Sanjay Y, Dr. Kiran A, Dr. Pravin J and Dr. Sagar P from Chitwan Medical College (CMC), Nepal.
