Dr. Amit Raut, Paediatric Surgeon, Apollo Hospital Nashik successfully performed a procedure wherein a stuck up Lithium Chemical battery was removed Endoscopically from GI tract of a 20 months old baby. Such battries, when come in contact with any part of GI tract can damage or at times even burst inside and are potentially dangerous known to cause death even in hours. However, Dr. Raut successfully removed it saving the life of the child.
