The patient was a 11-year-old child from Madhya Pradesh. He was diagnosed with Chronic Kidney Disease stage 4 during their first visit in December 2015 and managed conservatively. Apollo Hospitals, Indore performed the first paediatric pre-emptive kidney transplant in Madhya Pradesh. The family was counselled about the need of renal replacement therapy in future and they decided for a renal transplant rather than dialysis for the child. The donor was the maternal grandmother who was 58-years-old. Fortunately, we had 1/6 mismatch in HLA typing. The patient was admitted 2 days prior to transplant. The Patient was started on triple immunotherapy. Post-operative course had been uneventful. The patient is currently under follow up and doing well.
