On the occasion of World Kidney Day and International Women’s Day, Apollo Hospitals, Bilaspur conducted a symposium on “Kidney and Women’s Health”
Chief Operating Officer, Dr. Sajal Sen delivered the welcome address focussing that pain killers harm the kidneys and should be taken under medical supervision. Key note speakers were Senior Consultant Nephrology Dr. Chandra Shekar Annamalai who spoke on Kidney related Diseases. He said one should not take unnecessary medication especially pain killers as they damage the kidney the most.
Senior Consultant Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Dr. Rashmi Sharma spoke of Kidney Disease and pregnancy while Chief Dietician C Vedula Champa focussed on Women’s health progress with food that heals and food that harms.
Many patients with kidney disease, (dialysis and transplant) shared their experiences and were felicitated by COO, Dr. Sajal Sen and by other Doctors. Women from South East Central Railway Women’s Welfare Organization (SECRWWO), Punjabi Samaj and Kanyakubj Samaj also participated in the programme.
