Apollo BGS Hospitals, Mysore successfully treated a rare complication of spine surgery through laparoscopic surgery
A rare complication of spine surgery that was managed by laparoscopic surgery for the first time in the world has won accodales for city surgeons Dr.Nairuthya S, Chief Surgical Gastroenterologist and Dr. Boppiah K S, Consultant Neurosurgeon.
The doctors treated a rare complication of spine surgery called as Antepulsion of Intervertebral Cage through laparoscopic surgery. They removed the anterior displaced cage which would have been dangerous if left behind.
This procedure has been done for the first time in the world. Dr. Nairuthya has been invited by the American college of surgeons annual congress to do a video presentation on this surgery.
